Cell plate formation in a stamen hair cell of Tradescantia virginiana. (1-4). The cell plate vesicles aggregate in the spindle midzone, presumably as a consequence of their interaction with phragmoplast microtubules. As the vesicles coalesce, the plate becomes straightened and ultimately fuses with the existing wall. The plate normally occupies a position that is normal relative to the longitudinal axis of the cylinderical stamen hair cell.Take me back.
