Research and InternshipsIn addition to curricular requirements, students must complete co-curricular requirements in order to receive a Scholars citation from Life Sciences. There are two main functions of the internships and research:
Upon approval, in their second year, students are required to complete an internship that is related to the Life Sciences or their specific major. The goal is to provide students with practical experiences outside of the classroom. Internships take place either on or off campus and they reflect the career interests of students. Students complete a minimum of 96 hours at the internship site, and later present a poster presentation for the College Park Scholars Academic Showcase in May that highlights their experience.
