Reflections from current students:

"Aquarius surprised me. It sounded like fun because I love being on the water, but I didn't know just how much fun it would be. I did have to get up really early once again, but once we got on the boat, it was so worth it."

"The Western Maryland camping trip was an experience that will never leave my memory. Although it could have turned out to be a cold, miserable time, it was a fun and exciting trip. As one of the first bonding experiences we had as a program, it was rewarding to get to know more people outside the classroom setting and simply enjoy one another's company. It was an opportunity to meet and hear from sophomores who were in my shoes last year, as well as to talk to my own peers. I usually don't sit back and appreciate my surroundings, especially with being in this stressful college environment, but it was a relaxing time that helped me find my center."

"This trip to the NIH, by far, had to be one of the best field trips that I have ever been on. At first I thought that the exhibit was going to be very boring and dry, but when I stepped inside I got a feeling that this trip was going to be very interesting. I thought that the speaker's presentation was very concise and easy to understand, but my favorite part of the trip was the exhibit. I know that science has many different fields but my favorite part of it is the medical aspect of it. I love learning about how medicine and other tools have progressed over time. Even after the exhibit I became more interested in forensics and considered picking up Criminology as a second major and even becoming a forensic scientist. I really enjoyed going on the NIH trio and it has been my favorite activity in Scholar's so far."

"My trip to the National Institute of Health on November 19th was a trip I will never forget. Before I went I thought it was going to be a boring trip, which I was required to go on. After going I realized it was nothing what I expected to be. It was a trip which I am glad I went on, and I will possibly go on once again with my family or just friends."

"I have to say the trip was definitely a great bonding experience, and I'll never forget making apple cider the old fashioned way...especially since the mash attracted bears-Thanks Dr. Hellman!"
