Research focuses on neuroendocrine, endocrine and behavioral omponents of reproduction with emphasis on avian species. Studies span molecular mechanisms that direct neuroendocrine and endocrine function to investigation of the impact of these molecular events on whole organism function. Molecular tools including measures of gene and peptide expression in hypothalamic and pituitary gland response are used to assess neuroendocrine responses. Studies are underway at various points in the life cycle including early embryo development, perinatal sexual differentiation, maturation, and aging. Impact of environmental endocrine disruptors are under consideration.
