Students with a thorough and up to date understanding of biology or chemistry may elect to take the appropriate Admission Exam. The Admission Exams are generally based on the content of LFSC 510, Concepts in Modern Biology or LFSC 520, Concepts in Modern Chemistry. Students who feel that they can benefit from a review may take LFSC 510, Concepts in Modern Biology or LFSC 520, Concepts in Modern Chemistry. A passing grade (B) on either the Admission Exam or LFSC 510/520 is sufficient for admission to the MLFSC program as a degree-seeking student. (Note: as a 500-level course this cannot be used to meet the credit requirements of the MLFSC program.) Students who have been fully admitted to the program will be given prioity in registration for courses. Provisionally admitted student and Advanced Students (non-degree seeking) may register for courses on a seats available basis. Students may take individual courses in the MLFSC program as Advanced Students. Up to 12 credits may be taken in this way. A maximum of six credits from other institutions may be transferred in with approval of the Director. (See: Transfer Form) The program's curriculum consists of 30 credit hours selected from the list below (not including LFSC 510 or LFSC 520). Included in the 30 hours are 6 credits of LFSC 710, Experimental Biology, or LFSC 720, Experimental Chemistry, or the equivalent, and the completion of a scholarly paper.
