Graduates of the BEES program will be competitive for a variety of teaching and research positions at colleges, universities, museums, herbaria, botanical gardens and zoological parks around the world. In addition, graduates may obtain positions at state and federal agencies, as well as at a variety of non-profit organizations concerned with environmental issues.

Recent graduates of the University of Maryland who trained with BEES faculty have obtained tenure-track jobs at Harvard, Cornell, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, University of Virginia, University of Florida, University of Illinois, University of Minnesota, University of New South Wales, Australia, Universidad Autonoma de Mexico, Universidad de Caracas, Venezuela, and similar positions at nonacademic institutions, such as the Smithsonian, USDA, EPA and several nongovernmental agencies, including the Nature Conservancy, Conservation International, and the World Wildlife Foundation.
