photo of Mary BaileyWilliam J. Bailey Fellowship: Established in 1992 by his widow, Mary Caroline Bailey. Provides graduate fellowships in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.

 


photo of Arthur GahanGahan Scholarship Fund: Established in 1981 by James B. and Winifred Gahan, and James's wife, Margaret H. Gahan, in honor of the late Arthur B. Gahan. Provides fellowships for graduate students in Entomology. Click here for more information.

 

photo of Glen GordonGlen E. Gordon Memorial Fellowship in Nuclear and Environmental Chemistry: Established in 1992 by his widow, Constance Herreshoff Gordon. Supports incoming graduate students who intend to pursue doctoral research in nuclear or environmental chemistry in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.

 

photo of Wayne HockmeyerDrs. Wayne T. and Mary T. Hockmeyer Endowed Fellowship in the Life Sciences: Established in 2001 by the Hockmeyers to provide graduate support for students in the College of Life Sciences. Dr. Mary T. Hockmeyer received her PhD in Education from UM in 1990. Dr. Wayne T. Hockmeyer is the Chairman of MedImmune, Inc. and a former member of the College of Life Sciences Board of Visitors. photo of Edna HokensonDr. Edna O. Hokenson Endowed Fellowship: Established through a planned gift in 2002 by Dr. Edna Hokenson, who received her PhD from UM in 1966 in Microbiology. Will eventually provide support for graduate students in Microbiology and/or Immunology.

 

 

MEES Graduate Student Fund:

Established in 1987 by the Marine-Estuarine-Environmental Sciences (MEES) program at UM; formalized in 1999. Provides support for graduate students enrolled in the MEES program.

Andrew J. Moyer Fund:

Established in 1977 by Mrs. Dorothy R. P. Moyer. Provides graduate fellowships in Microbiology at UM.

Dr. M. Zain-Ul-Abedin Memorial Scholarship:

Established in 1991 by Barbara Zain, in memory of her late husband. Provides a scholarship for a graduate student from a developing country who is planning to study molecular biology at UM.
