HISPANIC AMERICAN ENTOMOLOGISTS

  This Directory is designed to gather together in one publication a compendium of Hispanic American Entomologists. The names listed were generated from the responses to mailings of a letter and a brief questionnaire (see Appendix A). My letter provided guidance to recipients of the questionnaire by defining an Hispanic American as "Any person, regardless of racial classification, who is a citizen or permanent resident and who traces his/her origins in entirety or in part to Latin America; which includes those countries, nations, islands, protectorates, and colonies south of the United States borders in which Spanish or Portuguese is the official language." However, the individuals listed in the Directory are self-identified as Hispanic Americans and I can not affirm that their ethnicity properly fits the above definition. This is the initial effort at developing this Directory and in no way is viewed as comprehensive. It is my hope that it will be updated periodically.
