I am interested in the development of the inner ear. My research involves using standard molecular biology methods and working with identified genes that are important to the inner ear development. I use chicken as an animal model to perform loss or gain of function experiments with vectors such as avian retrovirus. Two genes, Sonic Hedgehog and Sox2, are the current focus of my experiments.
