ADVANCED PROGRAM SPECIALIZATION AREAS

  • BEES: Behavior, Ecology, Evolution, and Systematics.  0401M Focuses course work on organismal biology.  Appropriate major for students interested in careers in ecology or environmental sciences, or graduate school in organismal biology. "Sample" 4 Year Plan
  • BIVS: Individualized study.  0401N Appropriate when student has special interests not met by any other area.  Permission of Assistant Director required.
  • CMBG: Cell and Molecular Biology and Genetics. 0401P Focuses course work on molecular biology, cell biology and genetics.  Requires two semester of biochemistry.  Appropriate major for pre-medical students and students interested in graduate school in molecular biology and genetics."Sample" 4 Year Plan
  • GENB: General Biology. 0401S  Allows student to explore broad course work across departments.  Appropriate for public school education career, wild life management, graduate school in any area of biology. "Sample" 4 Year Plan
  • ENTM: Entomology. 0401R  Prepares students for careers or graduate work in any specialized areas of entomology.
  • MARB: Marine Biology. 0401T Focuses course work in marine and aquatic ecology and diversity.  Appropriate for students interested in marine ecology graduate work. "Sample" 4 Year Plan
  • MICB: Microbiology. 0401U Focuses course work on micro-organisms.  Appropriate major for pre-medical students, and those interested in careers in epidemiology, public health, biotechnology, graduate school in microbiology. "Sample" 4 Year Plan
  • PHNB: Physiology and Neurobiology. 0401V Focuses work on molecular biology, cell biology, physiology, and neurobiology.  Appropriate major for pre-medical students, and students interested in graduate school in physiology, cell biology, or related fields. "Sample" 4 Year Plan
  • PLNT: Plant Biology. 0401W  Focuses course work on plant biology. Appropriate major for graduate work in this field, ecology, and environmental sciences.
  • ZOOL: Zoology.  0401X Focuses courseware on organismal biology and cell biology/physiology of animals.   Appropriate major for students interested in work in zoological parks, wild life conservation, veterinary school, or graduate school. "Sample" 4 Year Plan
