Advising by Department according to Last name:
A-M- Entomology
N-Z - Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics

Must earn "C" or better in each course

This specialization area is designed to ensure broad training in modern biology. Course work includes molecular/cellular and organismal levels. This area is appropriate for students interested in: graduate school in any area of Biology; teaching at any educational level; or any other career that requires an integrative background.

I.  BASIC REQUIREMENTS

II.  ADVANCED PROGRAM (>24 cr.)

A.  Biochemistry and Statistics (6cr.): BCHM 461 or BCHM 463 and one of the following: BIOM301; BIOM 401; STAT 464 or PSYC 200 (requires permission from the PSYC department).

B.  Upper Level Courses (>18 cr.): Courses must be selected from the approved course list provided below. BSCI 230 is the only 200 level course approved for Advanced Program Credit. BSCI 230 does NOT count as an upper level lab. Course work must include: two upper lever (300-400) laboratory/field courses (:L); at least 6 cr. from Category 1 (Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Physiology); and at least 6 cr. from Category 2 (Organismal Biology).
