Registration and Advising Information
Academic advising system:
Academic advising is mandatory within the College of Chemical and Life Sciences. Students are advised as follows:
- Chemistry and Biochemistry majors are advised through the Chemistry/Biochemistry Undergraduate Office.
- Incoming Biological Sciences students will be advised by a College of Chemical and Life Sciences advisor who will help them become familiar with university policies and procedures, as well as helping them plan their introductory cousework.
- Upon successful completion of selected foundation courses (BSCI 105/106, CHEM 131/231) and a 200-level biology course with grades of C or better), Biological Sciences students will be assigned to a faculty advisor in the Departments of Biology, Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics or Entomology.
Benchmark Requirements
The academic programs offered by the College of Chemical and Life Sciences are designed to be completed in four (4) years or eight (8) academic semesters. Students in the College are expected to make timely progress towards their expected degree. With that in mind, we have developed benchmarks to assist students in their understanding of what it means to be making timely progress.
