	"I was raised in Guangzhou, China and received my undergraduate degree from Wuhan University. In 1983, I came to the US through the Ray Wu (CUSBEA) program and received my graduate education at Harvard University. I was fortunate to do my Ph.D. research in the lab of Dr. Victor Ambros, where I worked on the molecular genetics of C. elegans postembryonic development. In 1991, I joined the lab of Dr. Elliot Meyerowitz at Caltech as a postdoctoral fellow and started my career as a plant geneticist. In 1995, I was appointed to the faculty of the University of Maryland and continue my research in plant reprodutive development."

	I am currently a third year graduate student in the Department of Biology. I recieved my Bachelor's degree here at University of Maryland, originally joined Dr. Colombini's lab to work with membrane channels but later decided to pursue a field in which I am passionate about, plant biology, so I joined Dr. Liu's lab in 2005. My current research project involves working with floral regulating genes -LUG, LUH, and SEU. My other interests include collecting orchids (to which I have acquired approximately 60 of), other plants, and I have several pets (2 cats and an African grey parrot).
